Compatibility and Self-Respect. A Note Inspired By Casting On 'Nobody Wants This'.

Image
Something that recently became a blip on the celebrity news radar has inspired me to leave this note: When you're in a friendship or a romantic relationship that has been unhealthy all along, and you contemplate ending it, you might reach a point where you're ready to not prioritize emotion, and instead sort through lists of pros and cons, and if you get to that point, I recommend including a higher perspective.            My example comes in the form of two couples.  As of this writing, Netflix has a series going called  Nobody Wants This , starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody. Their characters are building a healthy romantic connection, while the actors are in respective marriages that are unhealthy.  I respect Bell and Brody as performers - they are so talented - and they're real humans, each with young children, so I'm not excited about getting gossipy here, but their  fantastic  ...

Lemon Ink, Blonde Poet (About These Dreams I Had in the Same Month)

The following dreams occurred on November 8th and 19th respectively.             Rudeness, body art, fruit! And afterward, just because I feel like it, I share one of my new favorite shows with you, starring two funny, beautiful drag performers ! Please join me!

Garofalo (About This Dream I Had)

Image
Soon after waking, I texted a friend with what I remembered:           While on vacation, Janeane Garofalo and I had poor comedic taste.           This dream occurred on Friday, August 2, 2019, and I misplaced my notes about it until recently.           Here we go.

Kathy Griffin Photo Controversy

Image
I'm not surprised that Kathy Griffin just lost her New Year's Eve contract with CNN, because that sort of thing is to be anticipated following something like her most recent photo shoot with Tyler Shields that included Griffin holding what appeared to be the head of (*tries not to vomit*) P-Pres- no - Mr. Donald Trump. Part of me thinks that having the photo exist, but especially, for it to be public, is a bad thing, disrespectful to the office of President, and that same part of me worries about the message that the image sends to other countries, especially people with a strong anti-American attitude.  Another part of me...well... Remember when "Duck Dynasty"'s Uncle Sy was recorded spouting his racism?

2020

I'd like it to be the year 2020 already. While looking over my blog yesterday, I clicked the button "new post" while brainstorming what to write about. Did I possibly want to write a follow-up to 'A Wedding, a Grudge and Miss Havisham' after being interrogated by a friend who was clearly judging me and hoping I'd want to mend things with my ex-friend Goldie? By the way, I am looking at that part of my past differently. But as I tried to think of how to start the piece, I kept procrastinating, avidly reading and watching the news. I'm gobbling up stuff about progress in environmental science and about President-elect Trump's official Cabinet choices. There are simply far more important things than my inconsequential past.

Gossiping

So I've just had another of those moments where I came face to face with my ego, and it's all because of the jaw-dropping news of Kermit and Miss Piggy's break-up . Seriously. I understand that we're all just people -  interesting, flawed human beings [and pigs and frogs] - even if some of us are famous actors / musicians who are currently going through divorce .
